Get your head in the game!

Yes, I love sports luxe! I've wanted a proper jersey vest for so long and at last, at my beloved work place TK Maxx introduced me to this perfect one and I'm in love. What I'm wearing is a large men's jersey vest - if you want a good quality jersey, check out TK Maxx because they have got so many different colours and types of jerseys! It was so hard to choose between all of them but I think I made the right choice cause it goes with most things and suits my skin tone, also was only £14.99! 

I am a sucker for large men's clothing and turning them into feminine outfits - it's just fun and comfortable styling! Monday night, most people didn't believe that this was a men's top, which is what I was aiming to do, get away from the masculinity of the jersey vest. I teamed it up with a gold chain, lace up chunky heels and last but not least, I used a tablet holder as a clutch which I thought was ridiculous at first but it actually ended up matching the outfit and wasn't too recognisable unless you looked up close!

So here we have it, my newest outfit on my first night out after getting my student loan in!

Sports Luxe

I decided to rock the Sports Luxe trend on a spontaneous night out with my flat mates. At first we were planning to go to an Indie night, so I just dressed casual, and yes all black everything.. again! However we ended up going to our favourite bar Baabar, and thank god I didn't look too casual for the place. Even though things didn't go to plan, it was still a really fun night, as it always is with my flatmates!

Sports Luxe is definitely a big trend of this year; with designers from Gucci to Alexander Wang and high street stores from Topshop to Primark embracing it! It's somewhat a trend coming back from the 90's, with that Urban twist to sporty pieces. 

Finally a trend that is comfortable, which is unlikely in fashion; sports-inspired clothing is flexible and can be experimented with any style I think! Make it super urban, or tough and masculine or rock the tennis-short skirts and make it look pretty and feminine. However, to work this trend, you can't be too chilled out with it.. for example: combining baggy joggers with trainers is a not a way to reflect this Sports Luxe trend, mix it up with some other trends such as a floral dress with trainers - sounds very Lily Allen when she first debuted herself, but I mean skater trainers or slimline trainers to keep that femininity side of your sport outfit. 

One blogger I especially notice is on point with this trend is shewearsfashion.com Kavita Donkersley. If you check out her blog or Lookbook, you definitely see how she experiments with Sports Luxe - take inspiration from designers, high street stores, the street and bloggers etc!

Play this trend, like you'd play a sport, have fun and be competitive with other current/upcoming trends! It's game on and you're the captain..

With my outfit, I decided to take on the feminine side on this trend with jogger black trousers, an Adidas sports top I cut into a crop top, my dad's old belt, the shoes I live in - my cut out buckle chunky boots (the comfiest shoes ever!) and my bargain of a cap (5 Euros) from my college trip to Paris, then not forgetting some jewellery. For the first time, I had a clear option of what I wanted to wear and it actually worked out. I never usually wear hats on nights out but it was perfect to go with this outfit so I couldn't resist - also now having decent length hair, I don't look silly wearing it. And guess who my inspiration for this outfit was? ...... The wonderful Kavita (shewearsfashion.com), her LookBook is amazing and when I had a nose around, it inspired me to try out the Sports Luxe trend for the night!

Pretty in Black

I was off to an Indie Night, and felt like being comfortable but pretty. I love black, and ever since coming to Uni, that's all I've been wearing and no idea why - beforehand I used to rock out the prints and colours, what's changed!? I paired my favourite high waisted black jeans from Primark which were a bargain £11 (I think!) which are a replica of Topshop's Joni jeans and are such a good fit, I've even had people ask me if they're Topshop - that's why I love Primark! then a simple baggy vest from H&M. As the title - the Pretty represents my kimono from Miss Selfridge which was part of a Buy 1 get 1 Free deal in their closing down sale in the city and the Black - well that represents a majority of my outfit, obviously. To finish off this outfit, I chucked on my cut out black platform heeled boots which I live in, literally - just because they go with everything and anything! then my long cross string necklace and my usual night out studded shoulder bag which is a perfect size to fit my purse, lipstick (night out essentials).

Kimonos are such a wardrobe staple for summer or winter and perfect for layering, summer in the day and winter on a night out? This one is probably one of the few which reflect the traditional shape of a kimono and the sewn print is just beautiful - Roses are my favourite and when I saw this kimono, I just had to have it - especially being on a deal of buy 1 get 1 free!
